Do You Need a Porta Potty for a Home Remodel?

Do you need a porta potty for a remodel?
You need a porta potty for a remodel when the only bathroom will be out of service, when you would rather crews not use the house bathroom, or when your city requires one. Cedar Park, for example, requires one portable toilet for every four houses or fewer on residential builds, checked at inspection.

How many units does a remodel need?
One standard porta potty covers most home remodels with up to 10 workers and one weekly cleaning, based on its 60-gallon tank. OSHA allows 1 unit for up to 20 workers. If your family will use it too while the bathroom is torn out, a flushing unit with a sink is more comfortable.
Where should it go at the house?
Put a remodel porta potty on the driveway or a level side yard near the work entrance, at least 10 feet from windows and within about 100 feet of where our truck parks. In HOA neighborhoods, a spot beside the garage usually draws the fewest complaints. Gated communities need a code for our truck.
How is a remodel rental billed?
A remodel porta potty rental bills every 28 days, includes a weekly cleaning, and renews until you call to end it. Delivery and pickup are billed once. If the job finishes early, call and billing stops that day. Our 2026 estimate for a standard unit is about $140–$210 per cycle.
Remodel checklist
Before the unit arrives, ask your contractor how many workers will be on site, pick a level spot near the work entrance, check HOA rules, and book a day ahead to skip the same-day fee. Give us the contractor's phone number so the crew can ask for extra cleanings directly.
Fast answers
Will my contractor supply the porta potty?
Ask. Some include it in the bid; others expect the homeowner to rent it.
Can my family use the unit?
Yes. A flushing unit with a sink is nicer for family use.
Does my HOA have to approve it?
Some HOAs set placement rules. Check your HOA guidelines before delivery.
What if the remodel runs long?
The rental renews every 28 days automatically.
